Why We Designed the GEP Second-Round Crash Course

In the GEP second-round exam, word problems take up a very large proportion. Based on our analysis of the past four years of papers, word problems account for as much as 47.83%!

As a hot exam focus, word problems include:

Frequently tested topics such as sum-difference–multiple problems.
Challenging topics such as excess and shortage problem or the chicken and rabbit problem.
Trick topics such as calendar problems.

Beyond word problems, the second round also introduces new topics, with geometry (area & perimeter) being tested most heavily. On top of that, there are many comprehensive problems rarely seen in school math — which can be very hard to solve if students encounter them for the first time in the real exam.
