Key Highlights of the SeminarOverview of the PSLE and the Analaysi Mock Exam Situation at Kangaroo Study
The seminar began with a detailed overview of the PSLE math exam structure and mock exam situation at Kangaroo Study, focusing on key topics and their importance. The most important yet difficult topics areFractions, Ratios & Percentages, Area & Volume and Geometry. The analysis of our 2025 PSLE mock exam revealed that the most commonly tested areas align closely with these key topics, emphasizing the importance of targeted preparation.

Students commonly struggle with foundational topics like fractions, ratios, and percentages, due to difficulties in understanding models and methods. Other challenges include weaker retention of formulas, lack of motivation, and ineffective learning habits, which can hinder problem-solving and result in avoidable mistakes.
How to Solve These ChallengesAddressing these challenges involves using targeted practice books, video explanations, and mock papers for better understanding of difficult topics. Attending open classes on the targeted topics will also help students to better understand the topics. Encouraging students to understand formulas rather than memorize them and providing a sense of achievement can boost motivation. Effective time management strategies, pre-exam checklists, and seeking teacher assistance when needed are also vital in overcoming these hurdles.
Role of ParentsParents play a crucial role in their children's academic success. They should supervise study schedules, ensure corrections are made, and foster communication between teachers and students. Encouraging children to explain their reasoning, maintaining a positive attitude, and avoiding blame create a supportive learning environment. Parents can also guide their children in time management and help them focus on improving weaknesses
